Xbox Regional Pricing Leak

Xbox's regional pricing system suffered a major leak on August 18, 2024 when Argentina and Turkey market prices temporarily displayed in the US store without currency conversion. Games that cost $69.99 USD were showing at their local equivalents — often $3-7 USD.

Bandar's Bounties' international price monitors flagged the anomaly at 4:45 AM EST. The US Xbox Store was displaying foreign prices as if they were USD amounts. A $69.99 game showed $4.99. Game Pass codes were under $1.

Members bought digital games, Game Pass subscriptions, and Xbox gift cards at Argentine and Turkish prices. The purchases processed normally through the US payment system. Some members stocked up on entire year's worth of Game Pass for less than a single month's normal price.

Microsoft's regional pricing team corrected the display by 7 AM, locking prices back to USD conversions. All purchases made during the leak window were honored — digital codes activated and games were playable immediately.
